Built between 1963 and 1966, the Church of St. Bernadette in Nevers Banlay splits two heavy, towering masses that protrude over a central pillar. This is the pivot point that architects Paul Virilio and Claude Parent's call the "loophole". This "loophole" is a decisive factor in the development of the project.
